Research On Masers Of Social Work (MSW)’ Process Of Social Work Practice

The practice of Social Work, which plays an important role in the education of Social Work, is the only way to improve the qualities of Social Work majors and convert the theoretical knowledge into practical service. For the Masters of Social Work (MSW), such practice is of much more significance.In this paper, the masters of Social Work (MSW) from grade2011, H University are selected as the research objects, research students’process of social work practice. In the past, the practice of Social Work has been seen as an education or service process. In this paper, however, with students being taken as practitioner from individual perspective, focus is put on subjective feeling and consider process of social work as practice and experience process. And then divide practice process into four stages, including beginning of longing, superficial exploration, difficult growing and confusing future. According to Bourdieu’s theory of social practice, the practice process of MSW is in fact the process in which students fight for more powerful position in an organization by dint of personal professionalism and non-professional background on the premise of resource shortage, and besides, the fighting process is restricted by the objective environment. During the fight, students will gradually develop the practical logic of de-idealization and self professionalism, which in return will exert an influence on practical process and effects. On this basis, the suggestions for improving the practice of Social Work are:(1) A clear training objectives;(2) Pay attention to individual differences;(3) The process of evaluating feedback;(4) Emphasis on summary feedback.
