Aspects of urban functions originated in the1920s, but due to different nationalrealities uniform criteria for the classification has not yet formed. The rapiddevelopment of urban economy and promote the further development of urbanfunctional classification theory and methods. In China, according to the administrative functions of the classification, can bedivided into cities and municipalities, prefecture-level cities, county-level cities (dueto the special nature of the Xinjiang region, as well as part of the Corps city).Depending on the level of administrative bodies, can be divided into: the capital, thecapital city, regional center of the city, county, etc. These cities in terms of generaladministrative, economic, cultural and transportation center of the entire region, suchas occupying a dominant position, has guided the development of all aspects of thefunctions of the effectiveness of the entire region.Based on the literature and research methods to learn the use of the combinationof quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis tools together, from the perspective ofurban geography functional classification and analysis of the northern region of thecities, and the corresponding optimization measures.Northern mainland cities in terms of economic development than the relativelylagging regional development speed is lower than in most mainland regions and citiesmore single urban functions, the functions related to the northern city Classificationand analysis of research is minimal. Objective, systematic classification and analysisof urban functions in favor of the cities to understand their level of urban functions,by comparison with different types of cities, recognizing their strengths and gaps inorder to better promote the various aspects of urban economic, political, social andother development. To do this, you need to establish an orderly and efficient urbansystem in the region, improve the urban functions of the building.Main conclusions are as follows:(1) By studying urban architecture found in northern regions, in terms of sizeand structure of urban system in the region imbalance condition. Northern citysystem, only part of mega-cities of Urumqi; Yining City and Shihezi urbanpopulation in two50×104~100×104range range, belonging cities; includingKaramay City, Changji City, Kuitun City, Bo music City, including the populationof the four cities is25×104~50×104medium-sized cities; Fukang City, towerCity, the city ’s population of four Altay City Usu between10×104~25×104,belongs to a small town; population from50,000to100,000in the city as late as theconstruction of five drainage City, Xinjiang Corps unique city. According to the sizeof the urban population levels to calculate the northern city architecture isunreasonable, the number of medium-sized cities and small cities are too scarcecompared to inland provinces, the need to focus on the development of small andmedium cities.(2) Urumqi, Yining City, Tower City, Altay City, Bole and other five cities inthree industries, the tertiary industry> Second Industry> primary industry.According to the overall economic strength of these cities can be divided into two sub-categories, including Urumqi, the capital city as a regional center of the city, theurban economy has entered a mature form, the radiation can affect the function of allarea cities; second class city Yining, Tacheng, Altay, Bole is the center of the city inall regions, each region is the center of politics, economy and other aspects, featuresa powerful radiation, in an area belong to the tertiary industry, secondary industrymore developed, capital, technology, and business center.Karamay City, Changji, Fukang City, Kuitun, Shihezi City, three of these fiveindustries, secondary industries> Tertiary Industry> primary industry, the city issuch a high level of economic development of the whole region, a relativelywell-developed industrial urban, industrial position quite prominent in the nationaleconomy, has its own advantages resources to accurately locate the city ’s mainfunctions.Only the northern city Usu three industries, the second industry> PrimaryIndustry> tertiary industries. Usu City ’s three production were29.69%,52.82%,17.49, the proportion of such tertiary level shows that the proportion of primaryindustry is greater than the proportion of tertiary industry, low-level, secondaryindustry has some basis, but the strength is not strong enough lower overall level ofdevelopment of the industrial structure.(3) multivariate cluster analysis and functional classification CombinationNelson City after draw: Urumqi, Shihezi, five drainage functions of the three citiesare relatively balanced city, where the advantages of the functions concentrated inmanufacturing, construction, etc., extractive industries sector in the city of science, education and other industries employing relatively less, accounting for less, Urumqiare economies of scale, high-intensity urban centers, and Shihezi, wujiaqurelatively weak; individually a class of Karamay City features obviously belongsindustrial city, mining and manufacturing sectors in the city accounted for more thanone-third of the working population, is the leading industry in the region; beenclassified as a class of Changji, Fukang, Yining, Kuitun, Tacheng, Usu, Altay,Bole relatively slow economic growth, due to the institutional setup of reasons, science, education sector working population proportion are larger, which Changji andFukang construction and industry developed rapidly.
