Recently, more and more studies have been made about anxiety caused by language teachers, mainly including forms, causes, features, and countermeasures. Most of them are theoretical researches. Based on the previous researches, the author makes an empirical study to show the correlation between the Senior One students’anxiety caused by language teachers and their English achievements. It aims to help teachers and educators pay more attention to anxiety caused by language teachers, improve their qualities and better their classroom behaviors, and then decrease the negative influence of anxiety caused by language teachers on students’English learning.The research questions are as follows:1. What is the current situation of Senior One students’anxiety caused by language teachers?2. What is the correlation between Senior One students’anxiety caused by language teachers and their English achievements?3. What are the solutions to the problem of Senior One students’anxiety caused by language teachers?This study selects180Senior One students (60top students,60average students, and60underachievers) in Liansheng Senior High School in Shanxi Province as the participants. It adopts a questionnaire and interview to describe the current situation of the anxiety caused by language teachers of Senior One students and analyze the correlation between the Senior One students’anxiety caused by language teachers and their English achievements with SPSS16.0, and then discuss the influence of the seven causes including teachers’language, classroom activities, classroom questioning, teachers’bad mood, teachers’quality, classroom correction and classroom evaluation on different kinds of students to overcome their anxiety caused by language teachers. The study shows:Firstly, a majority of Senior One students experience the anxiety caused by language teachers. Underachievers have the highest level of anxiety caused by language teachers.Secondly, students’ English achievements are negatively related with anxiety caused by language teachers. Students’English achievements show significant difference in the level of the anxiety caused by language teachers and the seven causes including teachers’language, classroom activities, classroom questioning, teachers’bad mood, teachers’quality, classroom correction and classroom evaluation.Finally, the seven causes have different influence on top students, average students and underachievers. Therefore, the countermeasures to solve the problem of the anxiety caused by language teachers of different kinds of students should be different.The author summarizes the pedagogical implications of this study, including changing the educational and teaching ideas and setting up the correct professional attitude, creating comfortable classroom learning atmosphere and adopting appropriate classroom organization activities, taking appropriate ways of evaluation and establishing new relationship between teachers and students, and improving self quality.There are some limitations in the present study. This study doesn’t do much work on specific solutions to the problem of anxiety caused by language teachers in the form of questionnaire, and the relationship between anxiety caused by language teachers and other factors, such as sex, grade, and so on. Besides, the same study can be replicated with a bigger sample of subjects in more schools for more complete results.
