Since the elementary education curriculum reform, emotion manner, as one of the curriculum objectives, attracts wide attention. Meanwhile, anxiety as one section of emotion manner has been given our wide attention as well. There are various sources of students'language anxiety, of which teachers'classroom behaviors and qualities cannot be ignored. Based on this background, this study investigated the real condition of the anxiety (caused by language teachers in senior high school English classes) on senior high school students in Qingpu District Shanghai through questionnaire and interview.The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the effects of the anxiety (caused by language teachers in senior high school English classes) on senior high school students, to discuss the differences of the anxiety among the different environments, and then to analyze their sources.The study showed that:(1) the average anxiety (caused by language teachers in senior high school English classes) in Qingpu District, Shanghai, is under the medium level and there is no difference of the anxiety among the students of different genders, different school types, different grades and so on. (2) Teachers'language and questioning in English classes is most closely related to the effects of the anxiety (caused by language teachers in senior high school English classes) on senior high school students. (3) Teachers'qualities relate to other factors closely. (4) A negative correlation was found between students'academic performance and the anxiety (caused by language teachers in senior high school English classes).Therefore, in order to lower the anxiety caused by language teachers in senior high school English class, language teachers must change their notion towards teaching, upright their attitudes towards the career as a teacher, attach importance to the emotional communication between teachers and students, establishing a new relationship between teachers and students, create a proper learning environment, reduce the negative effects of teachers'assessment, pay attention to teachers' professional development, improving all-round qualities. Only in this way, can teachers stimulate students'interest in English learning and correct their attitude towards English learning and help them improve the learning efficiency in class.
