With the gradual deepening of the new curriculum reform, a new evaluationmechanism is increasingly receiving more widespread attention. According to theideology and politics new curriculum, the evaluation is not intended to rank students, but in order to help students to develop better. Students are not only the object ofevaluation, but also the main evaluation of the subject. Therefore we should explore avariety of evaluation methods and the method which combines the formative assessmentand summative assessment. But the traditional teaching evaluation is essentially aterminal evaluation of summary learning, whose primary purpose and function is toidentify the level of student mastery of knowledge and select outstanding students. It is atop-down on students ’qualitative’ evaluation, which leaves students in a "passive" status. How can we change the student’s "passive" status in the evaluation mechanisms andhighlight the evaluation of the dominant position of students? This paper, based onideological and political subject characteristics, analyzes the practical significance ofthe use of self-evaluation in high school politics teaching. In addition, through theinvestigation, the paper also analyses the fact that self-evaluation in current ideologicaland political education has not attracted enough attention. Based on the investigationand teaching examples, this paper explores strategies in enhancing students’self-evaluation in the use of high school politics teaching. Through the research ofstudents’ self-evaluation in the use of high school politics teaching and the implement ofthe "student-centered" in the new educational philosophy courses, students will bepromoted in their overall development.
