Confucius as the culmination of Chinese ancient culture is universallyrecognized as one of the world’s great thinkers and educator. He paid greatemphasis on the importance of education and learning. All his lifetime was fullyspent on teaching his disciples to learn knowledge and politics as well as how tolive and behave, and he also stressed some knowledge about destiny;friends-making, financial management and business. Meanwhile he made thebest use of his lifetime to self-improving.“He was so happily enjoying his studythat he forgot the food time and sorrow to the point that he had absolutely nofeeling for the coming old age “(“Descriptionâ€). Therefore, Great MastersMu laments:"the essence of Confucius education is to learn." It is also to learnthat the achievements of Confucius are derived from his tireless pursuit ofexcellence.It is today’s calling that college students should learn tirelessly as Confucius.With the rapid development of the times and the progress of its economy, greatchanges have taken place for college requirements both in the nation andcommunity. College students are required to possess not just the knowledge andskills, more importantly; they should have qualities and abilities such asinnovation, teamwork ability, analytical ability, political and ideological qualities,moral and professional qualities, aesthetic qualities, psychological quality etc. Inother words, only by meeting the requirement of the quality and capacity of thenation and the times, can college students move towards a better society insteadof being eliminated by the flow of the changing times.Based on the thought of the newly national and social requirements forcollege students and their currently comprehensive learning status, this thesisintend to have a reflection on how to obtain quality and ability through learning process?
