This paper, on the account of employment pressure and competitiongraduates being faced with, the development status of career education system inchina, and author’s personal experience, presents an idea of curriculum programfor primary and secondary school students’ career education. In this study,literature research is adopted to collect, read and analyses a number of relevantmaterials in order to get some information of the development and tendency ofcareer education. Besides, questionnaire survey and interview are used to acquireprimary and secondary school students and teachers’ views and opinions. Bysorting out relevant career theories, career education attainment and researchachievement at home and abroad, I develop this paper from the following aspects:the aims, the values, the contents and the implementation of curriculum programfor primary and secondary school students ‘career education.Concerning the curriculum aims, ifrst of all,stage classification is made.There are twelve years in all. One career education stage is made every threeyears, and there are four stages. Secondly, the curriculum should be developedaround self-knowledge,career awareness and career management. Finally, thecurriculum aims are explained from three levels: general objectives, stage goalsand subgoals.Curriculum value contains two aspects: connotation and significance. Careereducation curriculum is a kind of life long and comprehensive education, and itreflects concern to individuals’ life. There is great value for individuals andsociety.Curriculum contents are programmed around self-knowledge, careerawareness and career management. According to curriculum aims, curriculumcontents and themes are designed for every career eduction stage.Curriculum implementation includes three aspects: teaching methods,organizational form and class hours. Career education can be carried out by the means of immersed teaching, whole course teaching and integrated practiceactivity. Classroom instruction is the proper organizational form. Besides,students can work in groups in case of need. According to students’ need, it issuitable for12th grade students to have career education class once a week, andthe other grade students once every two weeks. School activities should becarried out twice every semester,at least one of which should be off-campuspractical activity.
