Kindergarten building is one of the most important material guarantee ofkindergarten education. It’s not only the space for children’s activity, but also haseducation value itself. This paper mainly studies kindergarten buildings in Japan, andon the basis of analysis of their historical development of more than one hundredyears, intends to find out the impact of economic and social development onkindergarten buildings in different times of history. Starting from building standards,facilities and equipment standards of the Kindergarten building, this paper mainlyanalyses the basic characteristic of contemporary Japanese kindergarten buildings;analyses kindergarten building’s role in reflecting the kindergarten educationcharacteristics through the analysis of real cases.Japanese kindergarten education has shifted its emphasis from rules andwell-disciplined behavior to activities and children’s development. Thus, Japanesekindergarten buildings have shifted from a closed and restrained state to the openingup process. The basic characteristics of contemporary Japanese kindergartenbuildings is that they reflect the “openâ€and “active†of the kindergarten with firstattaching great importance to safety and health. Its main goal is to makekindergarten a “field†for children to grow and study.“The Nursery and Kindergarten Architectural Design Standard†in our countryhas made it clear that the kindergarten buildings need to meet the basic requirementof safety, health and well-function. However, even in the developed areas of China,more attention is paid to safety and health, but with little consideration to activityspace as well as the buildings’ role in education. As a result, kindergarten buildings in our country can rarely reflect their educational characteristics. So it’s necessary tomake an analysis of Kindergarten buildings in Japan and learn from their successfulexperiences, which is of great significance to our kindergarten education and buildingdevelopment. |
