In the system of basic chemical concepts, theory and knowledge of middle school, redox reaction plays an extremely important role. In the process of chemistry teachingexperience, it is the focus of high school chemistry teaching, and one of the difficultiesas well. Most of the existing research is not much on the effects of the students’understanding of the concepts caused by different designs of the redox reaction teaching. Therefore, Research different teaching design concept to understand the effect of redoxreaction to the student, for teachers to effectively implement the redox reaction conceptteaching is of great importance. The contents and results of this study are as follows:First, by reviewing the materials and sorting out different concepts’ teachingmethods, I have found there are mainly five different well-recognized and outstandingtypical ideas of redox reaction teaching; I have also selected PEP teaching design,XuChunli teaching design,Yu Naijia teaching design from them as the empirical researchof teaching ideas.Second, Adopting quasi-experimental method, different teaching design concept ofredox reaction effect on the students.choosing three classes of178students of the firstgrade in a high school as the research object,Using the self-made redox reactionconcept prior knowledge test evaluates students’ prior knowledge.Next, three differentdesign of teaching are arranged and implemented randomly in the three parallel class; After the teaching, using the self-made redox reaction concept test evaluates students’understanding of concept. Results show that Yu Naijia teaching design is better overallthan PEP teaching design and Xu Chunli teaching design; The design ideas of theintroduction of new concept and related concepts, are the main factors that influence thestudents’ redox reaction concept formation; and the difference in understanding theconcept directly affects the ability to solve problems relating to redox reaction. Finally, on the results of empirical research,I put forward some constructivesuggestions for the teachers to promote students’ understanding of the concept of redoxreaction.
