Reading teaching has always been crucial component of Chinese-teaching in middleschool,and the literature reading teaching shoulders the responsibilities of cultivatingstudents’ humanistic care, sets up the correct outlook on life, values and aestheticeducation. With the deepening of the curriculum reform and the promulgation of the newChinese curriculum standard, more and more people realize the importance of humanitiesconnotation in Chinese-teaching, literature reading teaching has received the moreattention.This article is based on the theory of aesthetic appreciation of literature, combinedthe literary appreciation theory and literary-reading experience,analyzed the excellentteachers’ practice teaching case and investigated the strategies of improving the qualityof literature reading teaching, so as to provide some references for theory research andpractice teaching. The article is divided into five parts:The first part is about literature and the related concepts of literary works, includingthe definition of literature and literary works and the relationship between literature andeducation. The second part mainly elaborates the significance and general requirementsof literature reading teaching. The third part analyzed the literature reading teachingpresent situation based on the practice teaching and questionnaire survey. The fourth partdiscussed the theoretical basis of literature reading teaching, mainly includes the ancientChinese literary appreciation theory and reading teaching experience and the modernwestern literary appreciation theory. Based on the above discussion,the fifth partproposed strategies to improve the quality of literature reading teaching.
