There are more and more Teaching Chinese as second language textbooks by the wave ofthe development of this education cause. However, flaws exist in these textbooks withdifferent quality in the market, which cause problems in teaching process and can’t makeexpectant results. So one excellent textbook is very important in teaching Chinese as sendlanguage.Happy learning Chinese, compiled by Shaomei Guo, which the school the author onceserved selects as the textbook, is one textbook for primary and middle school students inThailand. By now, there are so few textbooks for Thailand primary and middle schoolstudents to learn Chinese that both analyzing and adsorbing the strong points and editionexperience, and analyzing and the weak points then making some improvement are verysignificant. Thus this paper has great significance in this aspect.This paper analyzes the strong and weak points in6aspects.The chapter1, introduction, elaborates the studying aim and meaning, studying status,study object and method of the issue. The main point is focus on the fact that study on thetextbook for non-Chinese speaking is the weakness though more and more academic worksare coming and the study system becomes more and more complete.The chapter2introduce the textbook in full view from the compiling background andstyle (from chapter2to chapter6, the paper analyze the textbook content.The chapter3analyzes the text from text length, text topic and text difficulty, e. g. thenon-native expression, difficulty. And then the chapter3gives some more diverse situation,more close to life advice.The chapter4analyzes the voice content thoroughly from the compiling style in syllablerime, syllable onset and tone aspects, and discovers some questions, e. g. tone marking,syllable rime problems, then gives some advice on spell with pictures, and spell syllable rimepronunciation picture.The chapter5analyzes the vocabulary, and gives some advice to improve the repeatfrequency and morpheme teaching in the textbook for the questions existing in vocabularyselection and the explanation of the vocabulary.The chapter6analyzes the grammar. The grammar in the textbook has unsystematicfeature and many flaws. And this chapter gives some advice on this.The paper analyze this textbook with case study method and comparative study methodwith author’s experience in teaching. The author expect this study can improve the Chinesetextbook compilation in Thailand, give them some practical and feasible advice to develop theteaching Chinese as the second language cause.
