| In recent years, China began to pay more attention to the people’s livelihood and public service in order to build a service-oriented government. Schools, as public service organizations of the state, should give full play to holding good social education which is an important way of servicing to the society and is of great importance to the government and schools. On the one hand, holding social education can meet the needs of the development of schools, expand their efficiency and give full play to their resource superiority; on the other hand it is beneficial to improve the society and serve socialist spiritual construction. In the republican period, especially after the May4th Movement, social education concurrently established by Schools carried out the swing in many aspects, such as policy, rule, thought and cause, which drew great attention of the society. Cai Yuanpei with other famous educators launched social education, which had a profound influence on the society.The paper focuses on the social education in1919—1949in China. Chapter lintroduce the topic of the thesis, including the significance of the research, the definition of the core concepts and status quo of the study at home. Chapter2is concerned with the causes of the generation of social education and the development of it after the May Fourth Movement. Chapter3concerntrates on the ideas of social education after the May Fourth Movement, such as the thoughts of Cai Yuanpei, Tao Xingzhi, Yan Yangchu and Liang Shuming. Chapter4pays attention to the laws and regulations of social education after the May4th Movement. Chapter5focuses on the situation of establiashing social education by various schools, including college school, academy, middle and primary school of course. Chapter6concerns with the implications for further practices and researches in the field of social education.The thesis mainly uses the method of collecting data and analyzing them. It focuses on the research of social education established by schools after the May4th Movement. According to collecting and analyzing relevant information, the author tries to draw inspiration of expanding the efficiency of the current school education and analyze the contents, the approaches, the methods of it. What’s more, it attachesimportance to the ways for schools to become local cultural and education center andthe means of making use of resources of human, field, books and academic activitiesto serve and benefit the society. |
