| Report to "the Seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China" puts forward aim of implementing the idea of the Scientific Outlook on Development and actively building a harmonious society with democracy and the rule of law, equity and justice, honesty and fraternity, vigor and vitality, stability and order, and harmony between man and nature. To achieve this goal, schools must further strengthen civic education to enhance the civic awareness of fairness and legality. And rule education should be one important part of civic education that can not be ignored. This study tries to explore the aim, basic content and methods of rule education in our social studies through the analysis of related theories and survey. There are four parts in this paper:The first part is introduction. It is about the reason for choosing this topic, the aim, methods and innovations of this study. This paper defines and compares some related concepts such as rule, norm, discipline and order.The first chapter is the theory of rule education. It introduces some theories of rules in the area of philosophy and political science, such as social contract theory, intersubjective theory, and theory of justice. It also reviews some important literature of rule education to provide the theoretical support for conceiving the frame and the teaching methods of rule education in social studies.The second chapter analyzes the current situation of the rule education in schools, and tries to uncover the shortage of our civic awareness of rules and rule education and analyze the social background of it. Combining the theory study of Chapter One, it brings out the ideas of how to improve the rule education in our social studies: firstly, clearing the basic principles of rules; secondly, enhancing students' participation in rule-making process; thirdly, enriching the knowledge and skills related to making rules.The third chapter explores the operable and effective ways and means of how to carry out rule education in social studies, combined with the teaching cases. They separately focus on the teaching of basic concepts, the understanding of the relationship between the rule-maker and people who obey the rules, and the skills and experience of how to make rules. |
