The Research Of Chinese "Comfort Women" Demand War Reparation Against Japan

This article analyzes the claim for reparation of Chinese "Comfort Women" against Japan. The dissertation contains three major parts:the introduction, main body and concluding remarks.The exordium briefly introduces the selected topic basis, significance, status at home and abroad, content and thought, priority, difficulties and innovation points in research.In chapter 1, this part gives a systematic analysis of present situation of the claim for reparation of Chinese "Comfort Women" from Japan. The action for reparation is discussed in details involving legal principle basis and process and results of the lawsuit after stating the surviving "Comfort Women" suffering inhuman treatment during the war, terrible affliction after the war and life difficulties in their later years. As for the legal principle basis, it refers to international law and efforts and results to claim for reparation, offering valuable experience and lesson for claims.In chapter 2, the part analyzes three main reasons for hindering claims for reparation from Japan on the point view of China. The three main reasons are listed as follows: firstly, Japanese government allow legal impediment to be a barrier to claim for reparation. Secondly, Chinese rejects the post-war reparation between China and Japan. Thirdly, the difficulties of claims come with the survivors’own set of problems and inevitable factors around them.In chapter 3, some measures are mentioned to surmount obstacles of claim for reparation from Japan. The measures are discussed from three aspects:Firstly, Chinese government must provide supports for the surviving "Comfort Women" and give them respects they deserve in the society. The survivors must break the limit of traditional ideas and win understanding and support from families. Secondly, when it comes to strategies to Japan, it is necessary to prevent political interference by the separation of powers and enlist the support of Japanese progressives. Extending the propaganda woos the support of Japanese people and makes overseas Chinese and Chinese in Japan play their role. Thirdly, support from international society is of vital significance. Shoring up supports with America is feasible and the successful case of Korean "Comfort Women" given reparation by Japan can be a reference to China.Concluding remarks mainly discusses the impact on Sino-Japanese relations of the claim for reparation of Chinese "Comfort Women" from Japan and forecasts the prospect of the claims.
