An Analysis Of The Postwar Government 's Attitude Towards "Comfort Women"

The Japanese comfort women refers to those women who were limited their freedom and were forced to provide sexual services for Japanese soldiers.They were under the plannings,management and controling implemented by the Japanses army during The Japanese War of aggression against China(1931-1945).Thoses comfort women came from the Japanese native and Japanese colony, occupation of land.Among them,Chinese women one of the major source. Out of all kinds of reasons,the problem of comfort women was buried by history,not to known to us,and then became a historical problem and human rights issues.In South Korea,in the early 1990 s,under the endeavor of women movement,the problem of the “comfort women”came to light.Owing to the Complaint offered to the Japanese government by Jinxueshun,the Korean comfort women,the Japanese scholars,citizens stated to collect relative historal materials and the testimony about the crimes of Japanese soldiers. Under this background,the Japanese government acknowledged that The Japanese army’s participation in it in January 1992.After that,the victims from asian countries took actions and the voice around the world to demand to solve the problem and to find out the facts rose increasingly.Then the Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary HeYe YangPing declear apology and reflection in HeYe conversation upon the second government survey in August 1993.In the international community, the fact that the comfort women is characterized as sexual slavery is recognized by all.However, the Japanese government did not offer reparation to the victims and after the ‘HeYe conversation’, the Japanese government and the right-wing forces denied the facts about ‘comfort women’ and its mandatory again and again.They continued to perform the false words and deeds such as ‘No impressment’‘Withdraw the HeYe conversation’‘the comfort women is just a commercial activity’‘the testimony about the comfort women is totally fabricated’‘the comfort women is human trafficking’.Those attitudes toward denying the responsibility of Japanese army and Japanese government not only distorts the facts,but also tramples on the reputation and dignity of the victims.Countering this,the United Nations Human Rights Council offered reports on the comfort women issue such as《Coomaraswamy Ananda Kentish report》、《MacDougal report》;in 2007, legislative institutions like The United States congress, the Dutch parliament, the European parliament published announcements and resolutions to ask the Japanes government to make an apology and reparation for the victims.All of those made the issue of the comfort women the focus of the world.It is the responsibility of the research to analyse the attitude toward the issue of the comfort women made by the Japanese government and to find out the ways to solve the issue of the comfort women.
