Research On Political Function Thought Of Marx’s Culture

The cultural view of historical materialism is the final form of Marx’s cultural outlook, but also the most scientific cultural view. In the culture view of historical materialism, culture has the attribute of ideology in the class society, which decides its political function. This paper takes Marx’s critical theory of culture as the breakthrough point, reverse teasing out Marx’s discussion about the political function of culture in class society and its implementation in the framework of cultural view of historical materialism, and further explores its value orientation. Finally, this paper reveals the development law of the political function of culture by discussing from class society to communist society above classes.About the political function of culture, Marx mainly explores the functions of culture on the political behavior subject. In the class society, the political function of culture is embodied as political maintenance function, political critique function, political domination and control function, etc. In which political maintenance function and critique function can be collectively called as the political defense function. Besites, in the very first specific historical stage in which the new class overthrew the old class, culture also plays functions of political guidance, integration and motivation, etc. In this paper, culture is defined as a spiritual culture in a narrow sense, the research scope is limited to the cultural forms of religious culture, philosophy culture, legal culture, moral culture, art culture, economic culture and so on. The author explores the concrete manifestation and the realization way of the political function of culture in the class society, and points out its value orientation:Making the proletariat achieve cultural consciousness, participating in the practice of overthrowing capitalism and the rule of the bourgeoisie, eliminating private ownership and labor alienation under the guidance of the advanced culture, entering into communist society without classes and exploitation. Finally, this paper fully displays the developing law of the political function of culture to sublimate theme by discussing its disappearance in the communist society above classes.
