A Research On The Political Route Of The Communist Party Of China In The New Period From The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

A political route of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the lifeline of the CPC, which determines the direction of Chinese revolution, construction, and reform, and is the basis for the CPC to make principles and policies of work. Guided by a correct political route, the CPC and Chinese revolution, construction and reform will be prosperous, otherwise the CPC and Chinese revolution, construction and reform will suffer setbacks and stagnate.The political route of the Communist Party of China in the new period is the main guideline for the socialist construction and reform in the new period. In practice it has proved the decisive role of this political route in the progress of the CPC and in the development of socialist construction and reform. This political route is the lifeline of the CPC and China in reform and opening up and in socialist modernization drive in the new period. That is to say, whether it can be unswervingly adhered to and fully implemented shapes the destiny of Chinese socialism. Thus, the political route of the CPC in the new period is the only correct political route for the comprehensive development of Chinese socialism. This political route is the general principle which leads and governs the CPC’s specific working routes and policies. Its establishment not only provides guidelines for setting specific routes and policies, but also makes sure fully and faithfully implement these specific routes and policies. Without the political route of the CPC in the new period, there would be no development of the CPC or no enormous success of socialist construction and reform.This thesis is not focused on the history of the development of the political route of the CPC in the new period, but pays close attention to the basic principle that whether the CPC has a correct political route or not concerns the success or failure of the CPC and of causes under the leadership of the CPC. By systematically analyzing the objectivity, significance and connotation of the political route of the CPC in the new period from the perspective of historical materialism, this thesis further understands the historical experience of adhering to and developing the political route of the CPC in the new period, and fully demonstrates the historic, global and fundamental influence this political route has. What’s more, this thesis aims to sufficiently answer two basic questions of how the CPC relies on the political route of the CPC in the new period to lead a steady progress of the socialism construction and reform in the new period and how this correct route helps the developemt of the CPC.This thesis firstly discusses how the political route of the CPC in the new period is formed, namely, a research on its development process. This part refers to a series of essential questions about the political route of the CPC in the new period, including its historical background, necessity, feasibility and the content of this political route, as well as the implement, adjustment and evolution of this political route in practice, trying to make clear how to realize a steady progress of socialist construction and reform, and a progress of the CPC itself by relying on one correct political route. The next part of this thesis is an analysis of the inevitability and theory connotation of the political route of the CPC in the new period by using basic principles of historical materialism. In addition, this part argues about the scientificity and greatness of this political route both in theory and in practice by studying the new situation which is under the guidance of the political route of the CPC in the new period. Last but not the least, this thesis focuses on solving the problem of ’how to do’ our constructions under the main ’political melody’ of socialist construction and reform. That is, to review the historical experience the CPC has, in order to further clarify the conclusion that the political route the CPC takes in the new period is the lifeline of the CPC, and to make clear that there is a need to follow this political route in the future. This thesis can be divided into seven sections, which can be summaried as the introduction, the formation and development of this political route, the study of its objective necessity, the analysis of its theory connotation, the significance of this political route in theory and in practice, the historical experience, and the conclusion respectively. Each chapter is briefly introduced as follows:The first part is the introduction. By studying the basic connotation of ’the political route of the CPC in the new period’ and understanding its relationship with other concepts like ’the ideological line of the CPC, the organizational line of the CPC’, and ’the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics’, this part explains the reasons and meanings of choosing this topic. This part focuses on current researches of this topic at home and abroad, and further explaines the development trend and problems of these studies. Besides, ideas, methods, and innovations of this thesis will be given.Chapter one is about the formation and development of the political route of the CPC in the new period, which can be divided into exploring, establishing, and consolidating. The major focus of the study of preliminary exploration of the CPC’s political route is the exploration after the Eighth Delegate Conference of the Chinese Communist Party, which brings thought origins and theoretical guide for the political route of the CPC in the new period. Furthermore, the significant setbacks the CPC suffered during Chinese socialist construction becauses of the abandon of the political route of the Eighth Delegate Conference of the Chinese Communist Party proves correctness of the political route of the CPC in the new period; The major research about the establishment of this political route is the study of how the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party makes every effort to put the CPC’s political route to right, which is the starting point of exploring the political route of the CPC in the new period; The consolidation of the political route is a research about the scientification, concretization, and trenchancy of the political route of the CPC in the new period after starting socialist construction and reform. This chapter emphasizes using specific historical method to study the political route of the CPC in the new period, showing its decisive role in the socialist construction, reform, and the developemt of the CPC. The characteristics of this chapter lies in that the study of the course of history of the CPC’s political route in the new period sufficiently expounds that’this political route is the recovery and progress of the political route of the Eighth Delegate Conference of the Chinese Communist Party’,’an ideological line decides a political route’, and’an organizational line is the guarantee of a political route’.Chapter two is the analysis of the objectivity of forming the political route of the CPC in the new period. There are four aspects which can be summarized as an objective demand of the development of the contradictions in socialist societies, a historical choice of a country which is economically and culturally backward and works to build up socialism, a summary of the domestic and international experiences and lessons drawn in socialist construction, and an inevitable conclusion made according to the diversity of the socialist road respectively. These objectivities highlight the greatness and scientificity of the political route of the CPC in the new period.Chapter three discusses the connotation of the historical materialism of the CPC’s political route in the new period. There are five aspects when using the basic principles of historical materialism studying the scientific implications of the CPC’s political route in the new period from the perspective of historical materialism, including the inevitability of the development of the world, the historical characteristics of the social organism, the effects of the reform and opening up, the dialectical relationship of a state’s function, and the role of people in decision making. These five aspects express that the philosophical theory connotation and the social practice intension of this political route are highly integrated, and at the same time embody the nature of this political route.Chapter four elaborates on the significance of the formation of the CPC’s political route in the new period. This part mainly analyzes the theoretical meanings of the formation of the CCP’s political route in the new period from three aspects. To begin with, the formation of the political route of the CPC in the new period is a return to historical materialism. What’s more, it enriched and developed the basic theory of historical materialism. In addition, the formation of the political route of the CPC in the new period is consistent with the unity of purpose and regularity. The formation of the political route of the CPC in the new period has its practical value, namely it is significant for China and for the world. It is embodied in the existence of socialist construction and reform in China which is under the guidance of this political route. Moreover, it is meaningful to the socialist construction and reform in the world. More important is that in the future the socialist construction and reform in China will still be guided by the political route of the CPC in the new period.Chapter five is a summary of historical experience in adhering to and developing the political route of the CPC in the new period from the perspective of making, carring out, and ensuring a correct political route. It can be briefly summarized as the following four points. The first point is that handing Marxism scientifically, and understanding basic national conditions accurately is necessary. Secondly, it is important to correctly analize social contradictions. Thirdly, radicals and conservatives need to be treated properly. Last but not the least, democracy within the party is the gurantee of a political route. This historical experience is consistent with that of socialist constructions in other countries. It is a summary of experience in general, thus it is universal to a certain extent.Last comes to the conclusion. It puts forward the idea that we should have confidence in the political route of the CPC in the new period. By discussing the logical relationship between the establishement, consolidation, development of the political route of the CPC in the new period and the road, the theoretical system, the system-formation of socialism with Chinese characteristics, this section illustrates the view that having confidence in the road, the theory, and the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics equates having faith in the political road of the CPC in the new period. What’s more, this section explains the necessity and correctness of having confidence in the political road of the CPC in the new period.
