Research On Marx’s World History Theory From The Perspective Of Globalization

Since the term "globalization" has been truly proposed in 1990s, people pay attention to it for a long time. An important reason is that, all of the countries have been in the globalization background in the world, when they are thinking about their own survival and development, they can not directly bypass or ignore this reality, and they can not seek further development without the contact with other countries. In fact, as early as 150 years ago, Marx had insight into this fact, and then stood in the height of historical materialism, carried a unique analysis. Marx’s description about that is included in his theory of world history. Although, he did not explicitly use the concept of "globalization", his investigation and analysis on the history of the world, has been accurately grasp the historical development trend. In Marx’s opinion, productivity is the most fundamental factor in the formation and development of world history. However, world communication which caused by the development of production is also very important. The development and interaction of productivity and the world communication are the fundamental driving force for the development of the world history. With the further development of them, the trend of the development of world history and globalization will not be reversed.With the surging tide of globalization, the contact in economic, political, cultural and other aspects are increasingly interlinked, making the world increasingly become an organic unity. However, globalization is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it brings benefits to the development of the world and promotes the progress of human society; but on the other hand, it poses great challenges to many countries. How to seek better development in the context of globalization in the new era? In order to break through this problem, we need to grasp the essence of globalization and the trend of development. It is gratifying that Marx’s theory of world history has left a deep inspiration to people in this aspect. Thus, in the new era background, returning to the text of Marx and restudying his theory of world history are very necessary.Therefore, this article will take the globalization as the research perspective, and then analyze Marx’s world history theory from five aspects. First, explore the historical background and theoretical origin of the world history theory, and sort out the historical track of its development. Secondly, summarize and expatiate the main connotation of the world history theory. Thirdly, introduce the development of the world history theory after Marx. Finally, deeply excavate the theoretical and practical value of Marx’s of world history theory under the background of globalization in the new era.
