People's understanding of the globalization issue is affected by that of the Marx's world history theory. As a matter of fact, this paper focuses on the relationship between Marx's world history theory and the globalization issue. Basing on the research of Marx's texts, the author explores the source, major content of his theory, and the essence of his materialism. Through the research of Marx's world history theory, the essence of globalization can be found, which has both realistic and theoretical significance. As a critical element of the transformation from history to world history, globalization is an unavoidable issue during the modernization construction in China. To be specific, the construction of a harmonious society is part of modernization construction in the age of globalization.
