Diqing Tibetan Community Development Studies Since1950

Diqing tibetan autonomous prefecture is the only tibetan autonomous prefecture in Yunnan Province,and also the least population in five tibetan areas of China, and most areas of ethnic and cultural diversity in China. This article focus on Diqing tibetan as the main body of this special area inhabited by multi-national culture, in the historical background of the formation and integration of the development of Diqing tibetan, analyzed Diqing tibetan population changes and socio-demographic factors that influence the development of tibetan population from the founding of the People’s Republic of China so far. By the major historical events since the founding of new China, national ethnic policy in Diqing, multiple streams of Diqing tibetan population development characteristics in different historical periods, and also through the field survey in Diqing,to show the evolution and status of multicultural characteristics of Diqing tibetan,to analyze the reasons that today tibetan characteristics bloodborne constantly degraded, and the status that Diqing tibetan gradually showing their national identity instrumental characteristics; harmony factors of all ethnic groups harmony in Diqing. Strive for the future development of Diqing tibetan by thinking, for the study of theaccumulation of material Diqing tibetan population development, for the new era unified multi-ethnic country’s national policy formulation and implementation in tibetan areas of Yunnan, to provide empirical reference of the common development of all ethnic groups to create a harmonious society.
