The second part introduced the United States, the European Union respectively about genetically modified food and safety laws and regulations, such as the United States about the management of genetically modified food basically follow the same law and the traditional food, namely "the principle of substantial equivalence". And the principle of "prevention first" is the basic principle of the eu for genetically modified (gm) food, stressed that the principle for gm products, shall establish a series of strict and effective supervision mechanism of supervision, to ensure human health. This paper compared the United States and the European Union of genetically modified food safety legislation system, based on this, advances can be reference for our gm food safety regulatory legislation.
