The Research Of European Union Animal Welfare Barrier

As the development of global economy and the gradual upgrade of individual perceptions, the international business has deeper thinking about environmental and ethical issues. As a result, animal welfare attracts more and more attention naturally. In recent years, due to the gradually elimination of the traditional tariff, the concept of animal welfare is introduced into international trade and develops into a new international trade barrier-animal welfare barriers, which tends to be increasingly popular in the global economy, especially in the developing countries including China. The European animal welfare legislation ranks the first and is regarded as the main implementer of animal welfare barriers. The EU is an important export area of Chinese products with animal origin, so the implementation of animal welfare barriers make great influence on our country, which makes the products of animal origin in China faced with a great challenge. Therefore, the research of the EU’s animal welfare has an important and practical significance to our country. At first, this article summaries the generation and causes of animal welfare and animal welfare barriers and so on. And then it introduces the formation and main content of the law framework of animal welfare generating animal welfare barriers, which aims at enclosing the value of the EU for protecting public health and food safety animal and the influence on supporting for animal welfare barriers through the introduction of characteristics of the EU animal welfare barriers. Then this paper provides a legal analysis about the practice of the EU animal welfare barriers through the specific case. At last, it analyzes the international trade containing European business about the Chinese products with animal origin so as to provide a solution to the animal welfare barriers analysis in Chinese foreign trade from the perspective of the causes of the animal welfare barriers.
