The phenomenon of village official’s corruption has gradually aroused public concern, and has become an important subject. There is few systemic,specific studies among all the studies on village officials’ corruption. And compare to studies on corruptions of other areas, the achievements and papers of village official’s corruption are also few. So, as the author, I chose village officials’ corruption as my study subject based on my daily work in the rural area. Literature research, survey analysis, case analysis, systems analysis methods are used in this paper. I will use the typical cases that prosecuted by Commission for Discipline Inspection to analysis the characteristics and the contributing factors of village officials’ corruption. At he end of this paper, governance mechanisms are proposed from education and training, institutional development, and increase punishment, public opinion made to prevent and control all aspects of village official corruption measures and recommendations.This paper has four parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research background and significance of the paper, and then the domestic literature and related research, finally introduces the writing ideas and methods. The second part is the four characteristics of village officials’ corruption which are drawn from the cases through comparative analysis and systems analysis, investigated by the discipline inspection organs in W County S province in recent years. The Village official corruption is wide range in fields, concentrated on the main subjects, concealed and large amount in count, and diversification in corrupt means. The third part is the reason for the formation of village official corruption. First are the social and political factors: adverse ecological impact, tolerance and negative psychological impact of the traditional culture. Second are the reasons of the village officials themselves. Such as the thought quality and culture quality of the village official is low; and they have impure motives and they are fearless to the rules and laws. Third are the loopholes in the system. Imperfect elections and autonomy, imperfect financial management system, and inadequate supervision mechanisms imperfect punish and incentive system are all the contributing factors. The fourth part is the control path for the current village official corruption drawn from the reasons and the characteristics. The system of sanctions and prevention improved with the goal being a mechanism officials dare not, can not, do not and will not want to be corrupt.
