China’s urbanization which Stiglitz called "the event affecting the development of the mankind in the21st century" is unprecedented both in speed and scale. Along with the new urbanization put forward, the urbanization construction in our country will enter a new period. In such a large-scale social change, the new citizen living in suburban areas who used to be peasant, bears the great influence of the social change. They have moved into city community and realized the urbanization in their political identity. Clearly the core of new urbanization is the man’s urbanization. And a new type of urbanization doesn’t go atter the scale of urban population and the urban population any longer. Moreover the emphasis on this kind of urbanization is that the farmers go through this process and get citizen treatment assuredly. Then how to construct the "new citizens" citizenship at a institutional level? How does other social groups and social culture groups view and construct such a special identity? How do the the "new citizens" feel about their life? How do they feel about their life? How do they face the identity fracture? And how do they construct and reshape their new identity? What is the difference between the self-identification and identity definited by the government? In the empirical research, the author finds that what the subject of the research most mentioned is "different". They the new citizen are different from the the peasant because of the absence of the farmland. Also they are different from the citizens in the emotional, mental and moral aspects and so on. It is the simplest and most intuitive description of their status. In a sudden change from rural to urban, their farmer identity broke, identity belongs came into the vacuum. The government tries to construct "new citizens" identity to fill such vacanciesthrough the institutional level. However, the "new citizens" don’t recognize and accept. This article selects Wujiang where the urbanization is relatively mature as the empirical location, to analysis how the "new citizens" reshape their new identity after the peasant identity fracture respectively from the national construction and social construction, cultural construction and individual aspects.Through research the author found that the identity construction is a process that the main body choose, maintenance, and the create its own life information. The identity construction of suburban "new citizens" is affected by system construction, social culturel construction, and many other factors. But the result of construction depends on the subject of perceptionSystem construction is in conflict with the construction of the "new citizen" body in the aspect of identity construction.
