The rapid suburbanization of cities brings urban problems such as long-time commuting and insufficient suburban facilities appear, and the daily activities of residents are also affected. Therefore, the urban development needs a new concept of community development: life circle planning that needs to pay attention to the daily life of residents.Shanghai urban master plan(2017-2035)clearly proposes to promote urban development through community life circle planning. The trend of the suburbanization in Shanghai and urban planning put forward new requirements for the life circle planning of suburban communities,so it is particularly important to further understand the behavior characteristics of suburban residents and the supply and demand situation of suburban communities. In the traditional community researches, more attention has been paid to how the built environment affects residents' daily activities,or how to guide residents' community participation by changing the built environment, while ignoring the impact of subjective factors such as residents' social network and community perception on residents' activities.Based on the "survey of daily activities and trips of Shanghai residents" in 2017,this paper focuses on the non-work activities of suburban residents in Shanghai, analyzes the residents' activities from the perspective of time and spaces and pays attention to the social network and community perception characteristics of suburban residents. In this paper, the single factor analysis method is used to analyze the differences of suburban residents;the binary Logit model, the ordered Logit model and the mediation model are established to explore the influencing factors of residents' activities in different periods of time, the influence of neighborhood environment on residents' in-neighborhood activities, and the mediation effect of community perception on community built environment. This study found:(1)the non-work activities of the residents in Shanghai suburbs are close to home and concentrated at night, which means the suburban community life circle are the the main place for most non-work activities;(2)there are somesignificant differences in the non-work activities among Shanghai suburban residents;(3)the weak connection but strong interaction exist in Shanghai suburban neighborhood;(4)the degree of the attachment and satisfaction are high, and vary among residents of different hukou and house property rights;(5)the influencing factors of non-work activities are different in different periods of time, the activities in the morning are mainly affected by socio-demographics,while the activities in the afternoon and night are affected by more factors;(6)the social network and community perception of residents have a significant impact on the activities of suburban residents, while the built environment has a weak direct impact on the participation of non-work activities of residents, but it has an indirect effect through residents' community perception. From the subjective level of residents' social network and community perception, this paper focuses on the daily activities of suburban residents, provides new ideas for the suburban community planning.
