"Winter Study" Movement: A Path To Chinese Farmers’ Politics Socialization

"Winter Study" Movement was a mass movement started by the Communist Party of China under the difficult situations of the whole society as well as the Chinese economy, with the purpose of resisting Japanese aggression and toppling the leadership of the Kuomintang. On the one hand, this movement aimed to improve the farmers’ scientific and educational level, and on the other hand, it had the purpose of winning the support from the farmers through promoting the guiding principles of the Communist Party. In essence, this movement was one of the paths to realize the politics socialization of the farmers in the vast Chinese rural areas. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, "Winter Study" Movement was arranged in detail in various aspects such as electing its leaders, forming the teaching faculty, examining and approving the instructional contents as well as determining the teaching approaches. In all, this movement has achieved the set objectives of the Communist Party of China and has advanced the Chinese farmers’ politics socialization progress successfully, which provides a sound base for the eventual success of the Communist Party of China.Therefore, this thesis tries to explore "Winter Study" Movement from the perspective of politics socialization, aiming to answer the following three questions:(1) How did the Communist Party of China develop the farmers into real homo politics through "Winter Study" Movement? (2) What are the ways or methods of the politics socialization of the "Winter Study" Movement? (3) What are the results of the farmers’ politics socialization after the "Winter Study" Movement?...
