A Practice Report On The Translation Of “SECURE THE CLOUD: FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A SERVICE-ORIENTED ORGANIZATION” Based On Corpus

Many research findings in the world are being ignored in China due to the lack of high quality translations, which can have huge influence on the academic exchange between home and abroad, as well as the domestic development in related areas. Therefore, the E-C EST translation is worth to be discussed.This paper mainly discusses the English-Chinese translation of ―Secure the Cloud: From the Perspective of a Service-Oriented Organization‖so as to improve the E-C EST translationstrategiesand to apply the corpus to the translation process.After a brief introduction to related background information and equivalence translation principle, the author firstly discusses three ways to translate function words. Then in terms of word order adjustment, the adjustment of adverbial clauses, passive voice and participial phrase are being studied. What’s more, the author also points out three kinds of situations that need semantic explicitation, that is, the pronoun explicitation, the supplement of omit materials and the supplement of information in sentence structure reinventing. For research methods, the author uses corpus as the main translation aided material. Through the study of resources in corpus, the author summarizes translation strategies and selects the best translation method for the paper.In EST translation, translators should be aware of the huge difference between Chinese and English, making flexible adjustments, and trying to find the best way for translation with the help of corpus. What’s more, translation requires not only accurate meanings but also reader’s experience, that is, equivalency.
