The Confucius Institute Development Research Under The Perspective Of Cultural Soft Power

The 17 th communist party congress put the development of cultural soft power as a major national strategy for the first time, aims to “improve the national cultural soft power”. Then the sixth plenary session of the 17 th communist party congress through “Decision of certain major issues about deepening the reform of cultural system, promoting socialist cultural development and prosperity”, stressing the need to enhance our country`s cultural soft power and international influence of Chinese culture. The 18 th communist party congress report clearly pointed out that the Chinese culture should go out with greater strides, to show the world a truest China. The Confucius institute is a representative institution of promoting Chinese language and Chinese culture, it has already become a beautiful brand to highlight Chinese “soft power”, as well as the path choice of Chinese culture “going out”. The healthy growth of the Confucius institute is beneficial to enhance the attraction and charisma of Chinese culture, promote Chinese voice in the fierce international competition.This article attempts from the theoretical perspective of “enhance national cultural soft power”, integrated a variety of research methods, practically analyzes the opportunities and difficulties facing the Confucius institute, explores the countermeasures for the sustainable development of Confucius institute in the future. The full text is divided into four parts:The first part mainly introduces the reason and significance of topic selection, summarizes the research status at home and abroad, research methods and innovation, and on the basis of this highlights the logic starting point of this article. The second part combed the relevant theories of the “cultural soft power” and the Confucius institute, mainly analyses the connotation and functions of cultural soft power, the development of the Confucius institute, explained that the Confucius institute is of great significance to the construction of China`s cultural soft power. The third part analyzes the opportunities facing the establishment and development of the Confucius institute; predicament facing the Confucius institute in the current development, including the sharp challenge of the international environment and their own problems. The fourth part is the emphasis of this article, proposed the countermeasure thought of the Confucius institute`s healthy development under the perspective of “cultural soft power”.
