Film industry on history and culture is part of modern cultural industry. It can not only develop the historical and cultural resources, producing sizable economic benefit, but also advertise and popularize historical culture, creating tremendous social benefit.. Nowadays under the new situation both the developed countries such as Japan, Britain and South Korea and the developing countries such as India have paid great attention on the film industry of history and culture. Even in China, which is relatively weak in cultural industry, the coastal developed provinces and some provinces in central region take movie and television play(short for MTP) as a useful way to advertise their history and culture as well as accelerate their development of culture industry. Hubei has a long history and rich culture, but its MTP on history and culture develops very slowly---both the quantity and quality of are not satisfying. Therefore, it is necessary to learn from foreign countries to develop our MTP on our history and culture. The Japanese Taiga Drama, a MTP series on history and culture has survived more than 60 years, acquired great economic and social benefit in Japan and made great contribution to the development and advertisement of Japanese historical and cultural resources. This dissertation will analysis the three innovations of Taiga Drama on the basis of pertinent literature of related discipline such as culturology, industrial economics, history, film and television and other interdisciplines and put forward some preliminary conceptions on the future development of MTP on Hubei history and culture according to the latest development trend of cultural industry. As Taiga Drama is themed in history, this dissertation will pay more attention on the historical theme plays than film and documentary. This dissertation includes four chapters:In the first chapter I point out that the MTP of Hubei’s history and culture is behind the trend of today’s cultural industry, emphasize the importance of the efforts that Hubei should make on the development of MTP industry on Hubei’s history and culture, and summarize the advantages of the development of MTP on history and culture in Hubei. According to these studies, I analyze Taiga Drama of Japan to mirror the development of Jin-Chu MTP on history and culture. In the second chapter I analysis the content innovation of Taiga Drama and put forward the theory “romanticalization”(as in the novel the Romance in Three Kingdoms)” on the basis of the existing MTP creative experiences. This theory will preliminarily formulate a concrete norm on the history recompose of MTP on history and culture and set a good example for the creation of MTP industry on Jin-Chu history and culture. In the third chapter I analysis the form innovation of Taiga Drama and point out that the MTP on history and culture should be not only particular about detail, but also be bold in innovation on the basis of the latest trend of MTP industry on Jin-Chu history and culture. In the fourth chapter I analysis the cultural industry development model innovation of Taiga Drama and point out that this play worked as a bridge connecting other cultural fields in the development of Japanese cultural industry. Hubei should updates its cultural industry development model in creation of MTP on Hubei history and culture. In the epilogue, I make a conclusion and future call for the pioneering spirit and concerted efforts of the whole cultural workers in Hubei to develop Jin-Chu MTP industry on history and culture. Starting from historical culture TV plays, we turn the advantage of Hubei’s historical and cultural resources into the advantage of real culture industry.
