The Enchantresses And Their Cultural Implication Of The Classic Novel

The enchantresses of the classic novel have a dual identity:”monsters” and “women”,as the monsters who change come from natural,their different characters between the ugliness and the beauty,the qualities of the relationship between man and them,people’s different attitudes toward them actually reflect the historical differences of the relationship between man and nature;As the women from the realistic society,their performance that along with men’s in different periods and men’s attitude,reflect human relations.Therefore,we can know the ecological relationship between man and nature,also including the ecological relationship of the people.this article attempts to use ecological feminist literary criticism to analyze the evolution of the enchantresses of the classic novel.The evolution of the enchantresses of the classic novel can be divided into three structures:Imbalance in the early stage(In the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties);Contradiction between harmony and imbalance in the middle of the stage(In the Tang Song Ming Dynasties);Harmony in the late stage(In the Qing Dynasties).Meanwhile,this article will use multidimensional perspective to analyze many factors which this phenomenon caused by,including political factors,economic factors,religious factors,as well as the author’s own factors,the style of the novel,the audience’s factors.Based on these analyzes about the evolution of the enchantresses,this article make four proposals for the construction modern ecological civilization:Equal attitude to nature;Overall concept on the relationship between man and nature;Follow the laws of nature in the practical way;Promoting comprehensive coordinated development.As one of the classic novel’s typical images,the enchantresses had a lot of impact on later generations,such as “Touch girl”,“White Bone Demon”.Their connotations influenced the ideology of later generations,such as male’s aesthetic consciousness and female’s self consciousness.For the problem about the cultural connotations of the enchantresses,most of the researchers regard the wicked and sensual personality traits of the enchantresses as female’s vilifying by male.Meanwhile,they regard the enchantresses who are supple and willing to sacrifice as the male’s ethical enlightenment to female.This article think that these researchers take a one-sided view of this thing.It’s fair to say that the enchantresses not only contain the male’s ethical enlightenment to female of the specific patriarchal ethics,but also contain the deep foundation on the excellent quality of our national historical and cultural traditions.Actually,the enchantresses of the classic novel contain Chinese excellent traditional culture spirit,including the pursuit of independence and freedom,the pursuit of natural ecological harmony and the pursuit pf good moral quality.Therefore,from a positive point of view,this article analysis the Chinese traditional positive culture which the enchantresses contain.The article think that the enchantresses of the classic novel contain three aspects ofthe traditional positive culture,including the pursuit of independence and freedom,the pursuit of natural ecological harmony and the pursuit pf good moral quality.
