The text of WEISHAN TOURISM was composed by the Tourist Administration of Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County of Yunnan Province and published by Yunnan Minzu Publishing House, which introduces the history, minority customs, historic architectures, the local folkways, Tie-dyeing fashions and specialties in detail. This report is based on the translation of WEISHAN TOURISM, the third and fourth part of which the author of the report is mainly responsible for. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is about the source text and target text. The second has four sections, which includes the background and significance of the translation task, the translation process, the types of problems confronted and solutions taken and the last part is a summary by the author of the reporter. As Weishan has been more and more exposed to the outside world in recent years, it is agreed that tourism will grow with her abundant cultural heritages. The local Tourist Bureau, therefore, decides to make the English version of Weishan Tourism with, hopefully, its inclusiveness, readability, informativeness and fun, to which the tourist guides, may refer; about which the locals may learn; and from which various tourists may discover what they want. The materials introducing Yunnan tourism are uncountable but the English versions of them are rare.Hence, an English version of WEISHAN TOURISM will be of great use in promoting tourism, cultural communication, public service, employment, extensive concern about environmental protection, etc. Although there have been some descriptions in English about Weishan here and there, no text has so fully demonstrated the past, present and future of Weishan as the present one, and translated into English.
