A Compliment Study On Television Interview Program

Compliment is a very common linguistic phenomenon that is closely related to people’s daily communication, and television interview program is a good medium for compliment research. On the basis of the seniors’ research, comprehensive analysis on the TV talk show compliment is carried out in the perspective of linguistics, which is combining with the pragmatics, stylistics and sociolinguistics.This article mainly includes the following parts: introduction, the compliment topic research of the television interview program,the social function and compliments response of the television interview program, the compliance of compliment pragmatic strategy research, from gender differences and social psychological culture to probes into the restriction and influence of compliments.This paper not only studies what the TV talk show praises, how the TV talk show praises, the function of compliment, but also studies how to issue praise and how to response to praise appropriately by adaptation theory.The meaning of the paper lies in: This study systematically examines Chinese compliments in television interview programs, from the pragmatic perspective, stylistic analysis, combined with the specific pragmatic examples. In theory on the basis of the traditional, the introduction of adaptation theory, this perspective explains pragmatic talk show compliments selection strategies, make up for the theory of vacancy. In addition, the paper also draws on relevant content of social linguistics, multi angle all-round gender differences in the language of praise on the TV talk show and the implicit social psychological culture was revealed, that gender factors, an important role in controlling social psychological and cultural compliments and pragmatic strategies. In addition, this paper also a brief analysis of the television chat show praised different language and daily conversation compliments.
