This paper combines the art language of Gerhard Richter, a famous German contemporary artist, and contemporary easel painting, giving a detailed analysis on the influence of the former on the latter by sorting out the artist style of Gerhard Richter in different stages. This paper covers Gerhard Richter’s family background, the features of his times and the influence of academic education on him, as well as the change of philosophy in his art language afterwards, review of historic events and social effects of his works.By specifically analyzing the status of followers learning and simulating Gerhard Richter’s style, many Chinese artists explain the impact of photographing on Gerhard Richter’s art creation and mutual relations between contemporary art, photographing, images and pictures. This paper unfolds in two aspects, the impact of pictures on painting and how painting artists use pictures, exploring into the space and direction of painting in the information society where various types of new media develop rapidly, which is the main purpose of this paper. |
