Enlightenment From David Hockney’ New Technical Art To Easel Painting

In this paper,through combing David Hockney’s painting,his photo mosaic and the painting theories of Iphone and Ipad are used as arguments,and I take them to systematically discuss David Hockney’s concept、painting language and painting form.And further I combine with the development and changes of contemporary art,such as painting language and painting form and the current digital media,and then discuss the enlightenment and thinking caused by the combination.The first chapter of this article,as background knowledge,introduces what have done before the advent of digital media art,and some related background events.I mainly analyzed,since the 20 th century,The development and application of new media,and the combination of various forms of painting,as well as the development of the concept of painting in industrial society at that time.The second chapter,first of all,big optical discovery needed to be here,and then the impact of photography on painting,and Hockney’s concept of photography.Secondly,I introduce David Hockney’s photographic collage as an argument and his exploration of new technologies,including copy machines,fax machines,Iphone and Ipad,which are used as painting tools to illustrate David Hockney’s views on new technologies.The third chapter,I systematically expound the arguments and make the focus of this paper,namely "inspiration to easel painting and discussion of possibility",which is to be found in the form,medium and language of painting.Then,on the basis of David Hockney’s artistic practice and technology,I think about the way of spreading painting.In the Chapter IV,I combine all-round prosperity and development of digital new media art in all fields,and its penetration into traditional easel painting,and discuss the true meaning of painting.
