With Chinese development in economy, financial management has played an important role in the family life. With the help of financial management, common people can manage and control the financial risk, and reduce the potential risk when their life or health is threatened by the dangerous and depression. As a tool to convey the knowledge efficiently, financial management books have become the way for people to learn knowledge of financial management. Therefore, it is meaningful to translate financial management books.This report is based on the translation practice of the financial management book Your Money or Your Life. There are nine chapters in the book and the total words of the book are more than 180 thousands. This book is not only explicit but also practical, which is significant in guiding the common people. Basing on the skopos, coherence and fidelity rules of Skopos Theory proposed by Vermeer, the translator illuminated the key points and the difficulties in the translation of the book Your Money or Your Life. When translating the terminology, the translator adopted the literal translation and free translation by following the rules of fidelity and skopos. In the translation of pronoun, the omission and replacement were applied with the rule of skopos. As for the neologism, the translation was based on the context under the guidance of coherence and fidelity rules. In the syntactic level, the translator divided the long sentences and restructure them with logical order to comply with the rules of skopos, coherence and fidelity. And the metaphor was translated by cultural borrowing and cultural adaption with the rule of skopos. To translate the dash in the target text, the translator still followed the skopos rule and used the translation strategies of remaining and deletion. With analysis, the Skopos Theory, which focuses on the skopos of the target text, is instructive in improving the quality of the translation of financial management books.
