With the deepening of foreign economic activities, more and more companies have urgent demands for translation. Cooperation construction projects have been increasing in recent years. To promote the international engineering, more translators are needed to help the foreign exchange of the engineering. Such documents are highly specialized and the translation accuracy is of the most importance. Such translation is carried out by small and medium sized organizations. The translation quality will affect the image of Chinese enterprises and the smoothness of foreign trade. According to the corresponding skopos theory, the author puts forward the corresponding problems and solutions through the research and reflection of the translation project. This report discusses the translation of the construction project feasibility study report in XX province in 2013. The project consists 38,000 Chinese characters and the translators are allowed 10 days to finish the project which is completed by a team of five translators organized by the author. Through the analysis and studies of the translation project process and the translation case, the author focuses on three aspects of such small-scale translation projects that translators should pay attention to: First, how to ensure the translation quality and progress through pre-translation preparation and work flow management; Second, how to guide the FSR translation by the skopos theory; Third, how to find the difficulty of FSR translation by analyzing this translation cases to improve the translation quality of such texts. In the report, the author first proposes the basic objectives of translation through the analysis of the function and purpose of the translation, arranges and designs translation process according to the characteristics of small-scale translation projects. In the translation process, the author summarizes problems that may arise, explores the ways to solve the problems, and how to improve the translation accuracy. The report indicates that the translation of the FSR is an interdisciplinary combination of translation. Different translation principles and methods are used in different areas of FSR; FSR translation is still a big challenge. Translators not only need translation skills, but also have an overall understanding of such interdisciplinary translation project involving multiple fields. Translators should balance all aspects of the translation, including the purpose and function of translation, reproduction of the original meaning, customers’ interests and requirements, target audiences’ feelings and other aspects. I hope this report can provide some reference for the similar text translation.
