Chinese Imagery Of Contemporary Fiber Art

With the development and prosperity of fiber art in contemporary China, more and more people participate in the creation of fiber art, since the first "From Lausanne to Beijing" International Fiber Art Biennale successfully hold in 2000, Chinese contemporary fiber art got the motive power form the Biennale. At the same time, there have been a lot of contemporary fiber art works that are express Chinese imagery, and was unanimously approved at home and abroad.In this paper, "From Lausanne to Beijing" International Fiber Art Biennale represent contemporary fiber art as the main research subject, through analysis of outstanding contemporary fiber art and fiber artists, the substance is relate the techniques of how the contemporary fiber art express the Chinese imagery and discussing the beauty, and then summarize and sort out its own rules and the way in creative expression, it is a supplement of contemporary fiber art aesthetic theory. This paper mainly write through literature research methods, case studies and other writing method, combined with the form of interviews, trying to joint practical theory and get a more comprehensive analysis and summarize about the expression of Chinese imagery from Chinese contemporary fiber art, providing theoretical basis and applicable methods guidance for the regression of local culture among contemporary fiber art and for the fiber artist’s creation.
