The Plasticity Of Paper Fiber Media In Contemporary Fiber Art

With the rapid development of society, single media formcan’t satisfy artists’ creation requirements any more. To cater for the needs of social development, artists have to hunt environment-friendly media materials for creation.As the traditionally and environmentally friendly media, paper has developed from handicraft stage, industrial stage to present information network era with the pace of social development. Serving as the important carrier of human written messages, it has been closely connected with human culture and makes cultural essence reserved and inherited. Meanwhile, the ancient and traditional papermaking technology are also getting developed and innovated. For example, newspaper, Chinese art paper, Korea paper, crepe paper, bast fiber paper, corrugated paper, environmentally friendly paper etc. emerge, which enlarges the categories of paper fiber constantly.
