“Gu Wen Yuan” is a collection of important poems and articles. It has two versions: one has nine volumes; the other has twenty one volumes. This research is based on the twenty-one-volume version of " Gu Wen Yuan". Its object is Ci-Fu— a style occupying the largest portion in "Gu Wen Yuan ", and its perspective is mainly anthological stylistics and text hermeneutics.Study on the completion of “Gu Wen Yuan” begins from the research on the texts of Ci Fu and then combine with the internal evidence in the texts and the records of some documents. From these evidences we can deduce that the completion process of " Gu Wen Yuan " can be divided into three periods: collation, naming and cataloguing. The completion time of the book should be between 1084-1179.Because there has been arguments on whether some works collected in " Gu Wen Yuan " are faked or not, it is quite necessary to have the chronological and the synchronic study on whether the Ci-Fu in " Gu Wen Yuan " are faked. Through a process of double negation, the doubt of the reliability of the Ci-Fu in " Gu Wen Yuan " can be denied.The style of compilation can generally reflect the situation of compiling. Literary works in " Gu Wen Yuan " are arranged according to the living time of the writers which can show the changing process of styles and the time. Comparing " Gu Wen Yuan " with "Yi Wen Lei Ju" and "Chu Xue Ji", we can see that the statement that " Gu Wen Yuan " is a shorten version of "Yi Wen Lei Ju" and "Chu Xue Ji" is not right, and the Ci-Fu in " Gu Wen Yuan " are from reliable books. From the fact that the works in “Wen Xuan” are not collected in “Gu Wen Yuan”, we can see the character of " Gu Wen Yuan " is to make up the lost. Its selective standard can be summarized as selecting the lyrical Fus in short length which have both the characters of elegant style and popular sentiment. The aesthetic interest is biased to being delicate, pithy, fresh and bright.Ci-Fu in “Gu Wen Yuan” are classified according to their subjects and are analyzed from the perspective of aesthetics. Thus the subjects of Ci-Fu in " Gu Wen Yuan " are divided into three types: aesthetic Fu, geographic Fu and extolling Fu. Aesthetic Fu has the double beauty of arts and Fu with its good taste and deep connotations; geographic Fu shows the literary character of pursuing the truth with its presentation of natural and human landscape and the expression of authors’ emotion; extolling Fu has the character of possessing deep connotations reflected from its origin, mode of writing and changing with the time. Moreover the text of Ci-Fu implicates the authors’ inspiration, imagination and spiritual life connoting the authors’ emotions. Thus, analysis of the emotional elements in Ci-Fu can reveal the mind- set and sentiment of the famous writers of Ci-Fu in the time of Warring States, Qi and Liang Periods from microscopic view. These emotions include: the sadness on not being promoted and being poor, the sigh on love and death, the intoning for entertainment and mocking.To draw a conclusion, the purposes of the dissertation are to reinterpret the texts of Ci-Fu which have lots of national style and long historical tradition, and to get rid of the embarrassing situation that “Gu Wen Yuan” is only used in the field of philology and provide valuable ideas on spreading the influence of the anthology among the readers of the new time.
