Pursuing The Life Implication By Chinese Ink Painting

Liu Zhibai is a Chinese landscape painter in the second half of 20 th century, retired from the contemporary art world. He kept away from the outside world, and dedicated him self to painting. He had studied traditional painting for nearly seven decades, involving Song and Yuan dynasty to Ming and Qing dynasty. In his later years, he learned from the nature, and revealed his traditional knowledge by nature, his works contained antique and shifted present, ultimately founded his own freehand ink landscape, became one of the most representative ink landscape painter in the Chinese painting history. Liu Zhibai is known as a traditional Chinese painter, pursuing completes cultivation of traditional poem, calligraphy, painting and seal. Though he had a rough life, no matter how hard of living conditions or turbulent political situation, he always stuck to his pursuit of art, and shaped his own personality in face of hardship. He is not only a watchman of traditional Chinese painting, but also the former walker, Mr. Liu’s freehand ink landscape got a radical innovation in traditional Chinese painting, proving that Chinese painting has the ability to regenerate by his real works, promoting the inheritance and development of contemporary traditional Chinese painting.
