In A.D 640 Tang Dynasty launched a military march against Gaochang Country, which leaded by general Hou Junji and Qibi Heli. As one of the most important foreign military actions during the early period of Tang Dynasty, the record of Jiao River military march is clearer than the other military march of Cong Mountain. This paper focuses on the research of historical geography of military march of Cong Mountain by sort out the related history data and combines with inscription of tomb to figure out the real facts of military march of Cong Mountain. Therefore the Tang Dynasty’s military march against Gaochang Country in 640 could be restored true mostly and explain the reason why the record of military march of Cong Mountain leaded by Qibi Heli is so simple and brief. In my opinion the reason of lacking records is because the idea of Chinese Nation should control the Nomads. And this idea is the cornerstone of foreign policy and military strategy of Tang Dynasty so that Tang Dynasty could save its own power and use other Nomads to strike the enemy of empire. And this strategy is proved to be effect. Apart from the study of route of military march of Cong Mountain, this paper also research the exact geography location of Liu Valley which is the intersection of two military march of Jiao River military march and Cong Mountain military march. And this paper put forward a new view that Liu Valley is a mistake made by later historian who wrote down this period history of Tang Dynasty’s military march against Gao Chang in 640. The fact is the Liu Valley where Jiao River Military March leaded by Hou Junji met Cong Mountain Military March, is the slip of pen of Liu Zhong County. And the Liu Valley is not the later scholar said Kok-yor.
