A ERP Study Of Memory Advantage Effect On Network Information

With the rapid development of the network, it has penetrated into every aspect of human social life. From an evolutionary psychology perspective, mankind has always faced a series of adaptive problems caused by the external environment, and thus produce a variety of adaptive psychological mechanisms, the essence of these psychological mechanisms that is a solution. And, as a network gradually spread everywhere in the external environment, it will inevitably lead to some problems individuals has never face before, and thus the formation of the corresponding adaptive psychological mechanisms. And as a memory is a important adaptive cognitive ability, in the case of adaptive pressure caused by the network environment, and whether some adaptation changes appears is an very interesting to explore.Study 1 using a sequential memory paradigm to explore the advantages of individual memory effect for the network picture. Experiments designed as a single factor (the network and non-network pictures) within-subject design, the subjects are 12 Students from Central China Normal University. The results found that network pictures recognition accuracy rate was significantly higher than non-network image from the individual behavioral level, it shows that better memory effect exists on the network pictures; Dm effect and new/old effects were significantly higher than non-network pictures, it shows that individual has superiority memory effect for the network pictures both in memory encoding phase and extraction stage, and this advantage is more marked in orbitofrontal cortex and the central region or the left brain.Study 2 using a sequential memory paradigm to explore the advantages of individual memory effect for the network words.
