An Interpreting Report On Science And Technology Project

The development of the science and technology brings many opportunities for the development of our human beings, and also changes people’s life style to a large extent. In today’s information age, how to identify personal identity accurately and protect personal information security is a key social problem. Since the traditional identity authentication is easy to forge and lost, more and more difficult to meet the needs of society. Currently, the most convenient and security solution is biometric identification technology.This report is based on the author’s experience in Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation (CASIA) as foreign affairs superviser, and analyzes in detail of difficulties and harvests in interpreting biometric identification program. Such as being an interpreter in academic exchanges activities for the foreign researchers and introducing the latest achievement in CASIA, and also being a consecutive interpreter for several leaders in international conferences and for international exhibition activities. With the aid of D.Seleskovitch’s "Interpretive Theory" as the guiding theory, the author summarized that it’s better to combine theory and practice together in interpreting practice, strengthen mental clarity and spot adjustments ability, improve the psychological quality, accumulate the interpreting practice experience, so that the author could provide better interpretation services for Chinese and foreign exchange in the translation of science and technology and related fields in the future.
