Anti-Japanese War Memory And Construction Of The CPC’S Political Identity (1938——1946)

The commemorative activities as a special political landscape, its significance is not limited to commemorate the victory of Anti-Japanese war, it’s more important purpose is to shape the collective memory, to promote the construction of political identity, or to maintain and strengthen the legitimacy of political rule. The core of the logic thinking in this graduation is how commemorative activities shape the Anti-Japanese war Memory, and on this basis to explore how the Anti-Japanese war Memory as a middle bridge to promote the CPC’s Political Identity Construction. On the basis of a brief introduction on collective memory and political identity theory, using the theory of political rituals, political symbol, collective memory and political identity, this thesis explore Anti-Japanese war memory how to promote the CPC’s Political Identity Construction in 1938——1946. The Anti-Japanese war Memory is been shaped from three aspects:ritual regular performance, symbolic sign and memory discourse. Memorial ritual held on schedule strengthen memory in regular, fixed ritual procedures revive memory, and it been recognized and understood by the body of practice drills; Symbolic sign convey political ideas, cohesion national sentiment, and promote the construction of memory; Memorial discourse provide memory framework, guide the content and direction of memory, enrich and improve memory. Memory Construction is the construction of a discourse, the discourse of "persist in the war", "unite in the war", "establish a new China" shape the memory of Chinese Communist Party led the people insist against Japanese. This led people to approve the facts of the Chinese Communist Party fight against Japan, the policy of Anti-Japanese National United Front, the image of defend the interests of the nation-state’s, and promote the Chinese Communist Party Political Identity Construction. The Chinese Communist Party’s Anti-Japanese war memory not only had an impact on the time, but also will transform into historical basis of the current rule. The cognition of the Chinese Communist Party will transform into the cognition of exist political order. Finally, the author summarizes the experience and the characteristics of the commemorative activities, and proposes suggestions in view of the existing problems in commemorative activities at present.
