"You Xuan chronicle" is redacted by Jiang Yueguang who was a redactor of the imperial academy in Ming Dynasty. It records Wang Mengyin who was a vice master of engineering with the author were assigned to go to Korea to be awarded because of the birth of Crown Prince of Ming Dynasty, and collected the knowledge that they gained during the trips at home and overseas. The masterpiece consists of preface and diary. At present, academic circles at home and abroad still have some deficiencies in studying this masterpiece thoroughly. This article tries to study "You Xuan chronicle" and expect to study its main content and values of historical information preliminarily.The paper consists of the introduction, the major structure including four chapters and the conclusion.The first chapter is the introduction. It mainly talks about the purpose and the significance of the paper, related to the research status of academic circles at home and abroad, and the research methods and innovation point during the study process.The second chapter is the investigation and a brief introduction of the summary and version of the main content of "You Xuan chronicle", involved mainly in Jiang Yueguang mission under the domestic and international background with the purpose of the travel.Chapter three is mainly divided into two parts, including route on the sea and route on the road, and inspected them. While inspecting the route on the sea, they studied it mainly from the respects of islands and situations they met when they were traveling. While as for the route on the road, it mainly introduces and analyzes the Joseon cities, courier hostels and rivers that are recorded in the book of "You Xuan chronicle"Chapter four is the deep analysis about the Mao Wenlong, who was the high ranking military officer of Ming Dynasty in "You Xuan chronicle", and then have a deep research on the relationships among Mao Wenlong, Ming Dynasty and Korea at that time. In addition, there will also be a "You Xuan chronicle"-centered evaluation of Mao, and meanwhile from three aspects including fighting against Houjin, offering amnesty and enlistment to rebels to Liao Ning’s people and asking for the food.Chapter five studies the relationships of period in the late Ming Dynasty and further study the values that "You Xuan chronicle" reflects. While studying the relationship of period in the late Ming Dynasty, it mainly talks about three diplomatic wars, namely sticking labels, changing clothes and station location. As for the value of "You Xuan chronicle", it mainly analyzes the life situation in Liao Ning’s people, the relationship between late Houjin and Joseon, the relationship between late Houjin and Mao, the factual situation of Mao Wenlong and Jiang’s personal evaluation.The last chapter is the conclusion of this paper, which is summarized and discussed.
