Research On Countermeasures And The Relationship Between Cultural Strength And Economic Growth

Culture is not only the basis of the socialist core values, but also has significant influence on economic growth. Cultural power is the pillar of a nation’s comprehensive national strength.It is of great strategic significance for the regional economic and social development. This article from the perspective of cultural power, using statistical and econometric method to study the relationship between the cultural power and economic growth on the basis of the theoretical system.Cultural soft power and hard power make up the Cultural strength.Culture hard power including infrastructure,the output value of cultural industry, cultural products, human capital; Cultural soft power refers to the cohesion power and influence power, assimilatory power.The reality of cultural development and economic growth and economic theory suggests that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between economic growth, this study focus on the relationship between it and economic growth in the view of culture force.This article studies culture and economic growth’s theory framework and mechanism. Culture’s effect on economic growth include direct effect and indirect effect. Direct effect is embodied in the added value of culture industry’s contribution to the economic growth; Indirect effects are work through investment, technological progress and institutional factors indirectly works, inputs include labor input, capital accumulation, and education.Following the principle of the construction of index system strictly,selected 12 evaluation index in five aspects, including cultural inheritance and innovation, cultural production, cultural qualities, cultural magnetism, cultural institutions, forming a classified, feasible and scientific system of the evaluation in cultural power. and use the Entropy Method method is to determine the weight of the indexes in the system.Using the rank and evaluation method and the efficacy coefficient method to evaluate the western region culture force. To explore the advantages and disadvantages of western region’s cultural force development by the rank and evaluation method,to highlight the development of the western regional cultural strength over time by the efficacy coefficient method.Using the cointegration theory and Granger causality test and other econometric methods, selecting per capita gross domestic product(GDP) represents the level of economic growth, based on 2000-2013 of the western region’s culture efficacy coefficient,to research the relationship between the cultural force and the economic growth.The final results show that in the western region culture force play a positive role in promoting economic growth,there is a cointegration relationship between gross domestic product(GDP) and cultural strength.The increase of cultural strength will promote the growth of the gross domestic product(GDP).Cultural strength every increase 1%, will drive the economic growth of 2.8306%. Western regional cultural strength’s contribution to economic growth is different, the contribution is been ranked in the order:Xinjiang(0.4127),Ningxia(0.3441),Yunnan province(0.3353),Sichuan province(0.3116),Qinghai(0.3104),Tibet(0.3057),Shanxi(0.3021),Guangxi(0.2979),Gans-u(0.2961),Chongqing(0.2960),Guizhou(0.2401),Inner Mongolia(0.2775).According to the empirical results,putting forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the western region culture power.
