In this report on translation, the material that the author chooses is Fathers and Early Literacy written by Glen Palm, a professor of St. Cloud State University in America. The material mainly explores relations between fathers and early literacy development, can be guidance for designing programs for fathers in China by summarizing characteristics of fathers related to reading for children and summing up programs that developed in America and the United Kingdom. The author finalizes the translation version and writes this translation report after reading, analyzing, translating and revising the material. The translation report consists of four main parts: the description of translation task, translation process, translation case analysis and ideas about translation. The main part is translation case analysis, through analysis of translation cases from lexical,syntactic and discourse aspects to reflect translation ideas, translation skills, translation strategies and translation tools applied in the translating process.
