A Report On The Translation Of Coronary Heart Disease And Heart Attack Management

This report is based on the translation of Coronary Heart Disease and Heart Attack Management written by Jacob I. Haft(with Saretta Berlin). As coronary heart disease is the most typical and usual heart disease in medical area, the translation not only has some reference for patients, doctors and researchers concerning coronary heart disease treatments, but also conduces to the medical translation researchers learning more characteristics and skills of medical translation.To ensure accuracy, specialty and preciseness of medical translation, before this practice the author makes a term list, consults medical professional and collects relevant medical background knowledge to lay a solid foundation for later translation. In the translation process, the author under the guidance of domestication adopts the combination method of literal translation and free translation to solve the difficulties encountered in translation. The paper consists of four parts, of which the first two parts give a brief introduction to the translation task and the author’s translation process; the third part analyzes the cases from the perspective of vocabulary, syntax, discourse and professional knowledge to show how the author deals with the source text; the fourth part introduces the translation experiences of this practice and the author’s relevant suggestions in medical translation.
