A Research Of The Adverbs In Xu Gaoseng Zhuan

Xu Gaoseng Zhuan is written by Dao Xuan, a famous monk of Tang Dynasty who created Nanshan Vinaya school, he also had outstanding achievements in Buddhist cultural and historical. As there is a monks’ biography written by HuiJiao in Liang Dynasty called Gaoseng Zhuan, so the one written by Dao Xuan is also called Xu Gaoseng Zhuan or Tang Gaoseng Zhuan Xu Gaoseng Zhuan is a collection biography of hundreds of monks in six to seven early mid-century, it is very valuable to do some research in history, literature, linguistics and so on.The first part is the introduction, this part introduces the basic situation of Xu Gaoseng Zhuan, main content and research status, summarize the research contents of vulgar characters, explain the research methods and corpus sources.The second part is the main part of the paper, the adverbs in Xu Gaoseng Zhuan are divided into time adverbs, degree adverbs, scope adverbs, modal adverbs, manner adverbs, correlative adverbs and negative adverbs.Describing the value of adverbs and analysing the adverbs from the perspective of diachronic and synchronic.The third part concluding the number of all kinds of adverbs in Xu Gaoseng Zhuan, summarizing the general characteristics of adverbs in this time.The forth part mainly concludes this paper.
