The Study Of Guo Yin’s Poetry

Guo Yin, also named Xin Ke, was the Scholar in 1115 of Song Dynasty. The special background of the Migration Southwards and the extraordinary culture of Bashu contributed to the characteristic of Guo Yin’s works which expressed intricate thoughts and shown the tendency of deviating from the mainstream of poetry world. His collection of poems, named Yun Xi,contained 703 poems. Those poems recorded an overview of the living condition of Guo Yin and his social associations during official life, and they also indicated the ideological trend of the poet. Besides, from the poems,we could see the regional features as well. The Si Ku Quan Shu comment on Guo Yin’s poems said that his poetry were a bit weak, which without a style of his own; the clarity and beautiful diction were the features of his poems, so his poems originated in Meishan. His poems had typical meaning to see the dynasty noisy voice. Based on The collection of Yun Xi, this paper tended to exploring Guo Yin’s life condition, mind state and his creation characteristic in poems under the background of the Migration Southwards and Bashu’s culture.Based on Guo Yin’s experience, firstly, this paper used background method to explore the diversity and complexity of poet’s thoughts. In detail, on the one hand, confronted with the fact, his ambitions can not be realized, which made him ambivalent; on the other hand, he strongly advocated Buddhism and Taoism in the background of the syncretizing of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Secondly, text research method was used to carry out details of materials so that we could understand and analyze Guo Yin’s poetry. Specifically, we should sum up four categories in the subject aspect, which were the worry feelings, travel scenery, send off and leisurely life; In the aspect of region, his poet showed his literary friends groups and he often put the geographical mountains, humanities and history of Bashu in poetry to show the native culture. Meanwhile, the pride of Bashu’ cultural showed in the poetry was obviously; On the style of poetry, Guo Yin’s poetry style deviated from the mainstream style in the times impassioned and depressed, but more likely elegant and natural style. And diverse language art had been used added the appeal of poetry.The special living conditions and particular emotional experience for Guo Yin made him a representative of the literati in Bashu area during the Migration Southwards. This research of Guo Yin’s poetry was a typical and had reference function on the reduction of Nandu period whose poet often had complexity and diversity living condition and writing style, where the value very lay in.
